Yachts Are On The Horizon At Suzanne Lovell Inc. & The Monaco Yacht Show!

Each year the enchanting principality of Monaco hosts the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). This extraordinary exhibition will take place at the end of September at Monaco’s famous Port Hercules.

Only the elite companies of the yachting industry are allowed to participate. This year 125 superyachts will be exhibited and 45 new launches debuted to an audience yacht savvy clientele.

Theo Hooning, Secretary General of the Superyacht Builders Association declared the MYS “remains absolutely the one and only superyacht even in the world” and a major rendezvous for yacht builders.

The MYS is an important event where industry leaders and clientele are able to see the latest technologies and innovations. This compels the industry to push boundaries and create what was previously unheard of and for it to be executed in the most attractive way.

With boats on Suzanne Lovell Inc.’s mind, there is much to discover while attending the Monaco Yacht Show this year. With nearly 34,000 yacht owners in attendance in 2016, only the 2017 MYS edition could outdo itself.

With French Riviera neighbors Cannes and Nice, Monaco is well accustomed to hosting some of the world’s largest yachts each summer. According to BOAT International, the best times to visit Monaco during its superyacht season is May through September.

High season kicks off in May with the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix. This exhilarating event features F1 race cars speeding through the chic streets of Monaco and in front of the yachts lining the sea wall of Port Hercules.

Monaco is abuzz throughout the summer and ends with the Monaco Yacht Show in September. The MYS is the largest show of its kind and regularly attracts thousands of people to Monaco to see such magnificent yachts.

The 2016 edition of MYS boasted 109 superyachts on display. From the moment the show opened in late September until May 2017 when preparing for 2017 edition, 17.43% of the yachts sold for a total value of €451,400,000.

The most expensive yacht to sell following participation was the 85.1 metre Lürssen Yacht Solandge, which sold for a cool €155,000,000.

The visibility and exposure that the MYS provides to the superyachts on display is unrivaled. The marketing opportunities surrounding participation are endless. And, as the MYS points out, if no one knows a yacht is for sale and no one has the opportunity to see her savoring the Mediterranean glory, then the task of selling her will be infinitely more challenging.

The Monaco Yacht Show has given us plenty to look forward to in the MYS 2017 edition: 34,000 participants, 580 exhibitors, 42,000 square meters of exhibition space, 125 superyachts on display, 15 prestige cars at the car deck, and 2 helicopters on display to name a few.

Open to the MYS attendees is the Upper Deck Lounge. Completely fitted with stylish interior marine furnishings for clientele, the Upper Deck Lounge is a relaxing and luxurious environment. It is here on the Upper Deck Lounge and aboard the displayed yachts that patrons can observe the latest offerings by top interior designers.

As Suzanne Lovell Inc. looks forward to designing yacht interiors, this Art Deco inspired  handcrafted and sustainably built club chair would perfectly complement the yacht interiors of a stateroom or saloon.

Beginning with our conceptual vision, the design is brought to life by many artisans – upholsterers, cabinet makers, jewelry cutters, and resin specialists among them.

The club chair is the first piece of this unique collaboration between Suzanne Lovell Inc. and Nature Squared. The chair has been reinvented and modernized by Suzanne and her team and produced by highly skilled craftsmen of Nature Squared.

Each chair is artistically designed and produced. These club chairs are available in a limited edition and signed by both Suzanne Lovell Inc. and Nature Squared.

With the Upper Deck Lounge and over one hundred yachts on display, patrons will undoubtedly be treated to the most fashionable of yacht interiors. A prime example is the Savannah. The Savannah is not only an extraordinary vessel, but her interiors are stunning!

CG Designer Cristina Gherardi described the design experience to Yacht Premiere as “not classic and not orthodox.”

Not classic and not orthodox, but completely awe-inspiring are words that describe the engineering and design feat of the partially submerged Nemo Lounge of the Savannah.

This space is one of the most stable parts of the yacht and is perfect for watching sea life while remaining dry. This space also doubles as a theater with a drop-down screen that covers the glass.

With no design detail left unattended by CG Design, these luxurious interiors make one want to remain at sea.

As Suzanne Lovell explained to Harriett Mays Powell in the August issue of BOAT International, Suzanne Lovell Inc. has been progressing towards designing a yacht. A client of ours, who wanted their penthouse to look like their beloved boat, was encouraged to move from a more traditional interior to one that held more refined contemporary details. The departure from a traditional interior proved successful as the client now wants their next boat to look like their home!

The MYS is exclusively designed in an intimate and focused format for a delegation of new potential superyacht charterers and buyers or their reps, who will be given the tools to easily understand the charter or purchase decision-making process during the following four days of the Monaco Yacht Show.

The 2016 edition of the MYS was an incredible success. Each year the MYS has outdone itself and raised its own expectations. We are eagerly anticipating another successful MYS season!
