Design and the inspiration of design can strike anywhere. It can be found in the root system of a tree, the colors of fall foliage, a beautiful painting, or a piece of furniture. The place in which that inspiration is nurtured and developed must be one that is created to continue inspiration. It is a highly personal experience, the ways in which designers interpret inspiration.
The drafting table, before everything was digital, was a reflection of each designer’s personal creative process. There was character and meaning in every line, transforming drawings into works of art. Just as paper is the home of a mark, the drafting table is the micro scale of traditional design. Today much of the personality that was conveyed through drawing is now conveyed digitally.
