Beth Rudin DeWoody has been a longtime art collector and curator. Throughout the years, she has managed to collect over 10,000 paintings, sculptures, photographs (1,500) and works on paper. Now, the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach has put together an exhibit titled, “The Triumph of Love: Beth Rudin DeWoody Collects” which is an assortment of 200 artworks (no photographs though because they’ll be included in a separate 2016 exhibition).
DeWoody has always searched for new and emerging genres of art and artists. Buying with her heart vs. with what’s “popular” or “trendy” or “established” is what DeWoody has done for the past 4 decades. Open now through May 3rd, take some time to peruse if you find yourself in West Palm Beach, Florida!

Artist, Randy Polumbo transformed an airstream which had been parked in DeWoody’s backyard into a thought-provoking work of art which was placed museum’s entrance.

A collection of DeWoody’s artwork as displayed for ther newest exhibition. The idea was to display as many pieces as possible and thus, the use of multi-leveled platforms was used, successfully. Placing these works in such a manner also allows for their dimensions to be properly embraced by the viewer!
