Italian artist Roberto Cuoghi is known for his flair for unconventional. In 1998, he gained much attention for altering his looks dramatically and causing himself to prematurely age into an “old man”. Essentially transforming himself into his father, he explored the themes of death, memory, time and identity.
With his new exhibit at the Aspen Art Museum, themes circling back to identity come into play. This solo exhibition examines Cuoghi’s quest to gain an understanding for metamorphosis. These 32 pieces are striking, invoking and certainly stunning!
