Project Highlights
Editor’s Letter – January 2022
We are thrilled to share moments of reflection from 2021 as we welcome an inspired engagement with our projects and treasured clients in 2022.
This 15,000 sq. ft. penthouse is our second residence for this Client, and required complete architectural and interior renovation on a very aggressive time frame. We are extremely proud of our project team to have conceived, presented and realized this project in 2021; certainly mountains were moved given the challenges brought on by the global pandemic to complete this tremendous home. We look forward to sharing professional photography very soon!
Our team continues to operate safely to produce fantastic projects across the country to include Manhattan, Hilton Head Island, Miami Beach, Captiva Island, Naples, Florida and a ski lodge in Vail, Colorado.
We were also delighted to work with the amazing talents of photographer Eric Piasecki and Anita Sarsidi to capture so many newly complete projects in 2021 across the country, and to share another fantastic photoshoot with Katrina Wittkamp in our Chicago Studio!
We were thrilled to have our art-filled St. Regis Owner’s Suite featured in Galerie Magazine with a wonderful interview with Jill Sieracki. We are also so excited to share that our Lincoln Park Contemporary project was honored in the Andrew Martin Interior Design Review (Volume 25), and graces the cover of Antiques & Fine Art Magazine January 2022 issue.
We were able to commission and install this wonderful pair of monumental sculpted sliding doors in charcoal walnut by Caleb Woodard. Here, an image from Caleb’s studio with his wonderful daughter for scale!
“A truly wonderful experience working with Suzanne, Kristin and the rest of the team. I cannot speak highly enough of them and their support of artists.” – Caleb Woodard
We shared a lovely visit to Joseph Walsh’s studio in Cork, Ireland with the Client, and look forward to attending his ‘Making In’ symposium in Ireland in September of 2022.
We had the pleasure of working on special commissions with many talented makers this past year to include Rogan Gregory, Lucy Slivinski, Khaled El Mays and Caleb Woodard. We are supremely grateful to our Clients for their support and trust as we create unique experiences within their homes.
We were thrilled to acquire this painting by Ross Bleckner, which was a highlight of Brussels Art Week, in 2021. We installed this remarkable work as a part of a large and dynamic contemporary art collection as we are able create experiences for our Lovell Art Advisory clients to include private artist studio visits and art gallery exhibition, art show and auction previews, both in-person and virtual.
Black Basaltware is a fine grained stoneware perfected by Josiah Wedgwood in 1768 produced for the Neoclassical interior of the late 18th century. We are thrilled to share an exhibition of 36 historic pieces from a single private collection that shares the remarkable artistry of these works in our Chicago studio through 2022.
In addition to all of these wonderful opportunities and exciting activities of her firm, Suzanne is efforting to share what she has discovered within the world of academia. Currently, she is a part of a cohort of 11 students in the first U.S.-based Practice-based PhD program with Virginia Tech’s College of Architecture, and looks forward to completing her 2nd year of study in 2022.
And, last, but certainly not least, we are so thankful for the talented designers and architects that we have added to our team this past year. We would like to thank all of our fabulous Clients and treasured colleagues for your support. For 2022, we look forward to new inspiration, projects and chapters at Suzanne Lovell Inc. Of course we invite you to follow along on our blog and on Instagram!
Wishing you inspiration and the very best in 2022!
