Chicago-based sculptor Eric Gushee’s pieces are caught somewhere between the 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional worlds. The beautiful pieces go through an involved process- beginning with a single motion, repeated, in a spiraling process that leads to a chaotic, yet controlled moment. Gushee’s chosen materials create fabulous asymmetrical shapes that cast interesting shadows. Large and small sculptures are available; and no matter the size, they’ll certainly add much interest to your humble abode.

Gushee’s painted and masterfully manipulated wire forms a wall sculpture that emerges from the picture plane. As Dan Flavin was painting with light, Gushee is drawing with wire.

The artist exhibits a mastery of material in this woven, spiraling wall sculpture that can be placed or hung. It’s made out of wire that is “spun” into an organic, hive-like shape.
