The Georg Jensen factory in Copenhagen was a delight to visit, as the true art of craftsmanship is still very alive there today. The hammers and the molds that have created the hammered beauty of the classical Jensen designs are spectacular and timeless as you see them creating the same masterpieces decade after decade.
A nice story was shared with us about the sought after summer intern position for a young lady. She could look beautiful as she hammered all day always in hopes of meeting the rich young gentleman who might be wealthy enough to purchase a service of Georg Jensen’s finery.
Also exciting for Georg Jensen today is the silver service that designer, Marc Newson, has recently created. It is a classic, yet modern, an example of all of the craftsmanship that defines Georg Jensen over the decades.
