Passionate about glass since the age of 15, Italian master glassblower Simone Crestani has managed to create so many wonderful pieces. Using a technique called flame-working, Crestani uses a strong flame for melting and sculpting the glass. Living near Venice helped hone his techniques as he had Venetian glass masters nearby and at his disposal. There’s a unique delicate-ness to Crestani’s works that is rarely seen. Graceful and elegance are can certainly be used to describe these stunning artworks.
Please refer to Bernd Goeckler Antiques, one of our favorite NYC antique stores, for some wondeful examples of Simone Crestani’s creations.
This collection is titled the “Bonsai Group” and was created in 2013. Crestani submitted it to ArtPrize as an entry in 2013.
