Luxury goods conglomerate, LVMH, opened it’s new privately funded contemporary art museum this week. Designed by acclaimed architect, Frank Gehry, the building is just as impressive as the collection inside! This project took six years to complete at the staggering cost of $135 million and was overseen by Bernard Arnault, head of LVMH and the richest man in France. Some of the gallery space is devoted to models of Mr. Gehry’s designs which came about during an 11-hour flight to California in 2002. Intentionally, some angles of the museum point to an “unfinished look”; but that’s just the point, Mr. Gehry says. His plan is for the audience to be able to interact with the space throughout time. Only time will tell, but we ascribe to his theory and don’t doubt that’ll be the case!
