We have been following an artist named Dihn Q. Le recently. He is a Vietnamese-American artist that creates woven images by combining photographs from many different sources. Le’s career focuses on grappling with his Vietnamese history. He explores his relationship to the complicated history of Vietnam through imagery. His work is absolutely stunning as it creates an abstraction through the woven combination of multiple images. Dihn Q. Le currently has an exhibition at the Rice Gallery called Crossing the Farther Shore. The show is an installation created by Le, using old family photos from Vietnam. The images are much like those that would fill a family photo album. To read more about Dihn Q. Le click here.
