Laura Foster Nicholson Handwoven Tapestries

In 1985 Laura Foster Nicholson won a Stone Lion Award at the Third Venice Biennale of Architecture for a suite of weavings of the Villa Farsetti. This is the most iconic work of the series.

Laura Foster Nicholson is a textile artist that has been featured in many museum across the United States including The Art Institute of Chicago and The Cooper Hewitt. She was recently commissioned by Mayo Clinic to create a series of tapestries as well. We absolutely love her attention to detail and also all of her ribbons!

Laura Foster Nicholson says about her work, “The great joy in my life has been to try to bring art, craft, and design together in my work, not as separate entities in my creative output, but as different facets of the same person and if possible, the same object.”
