Lighting Organically

Nature is a never-ending source of inspiration for us. We have been inspired by natural lighting after searching for perfect wall sconces for a number of projects. These organic fixtures add a unique touch to interiors.

We wanted organic sconces to place haphazardly in a large wood paneled stair hall of an Adirondack-like Michigan lake house. We were so excited about the Soane Funghi Uplighter; Inspired by a tree-grown mushroom, they work perfectly on the wooden walls!

This driftwood sconce by Vincent Richel we love for a Nantucket beach house!

The twisted brass wire sconce by Mary Brogger is reminiscent of an intricately gnarled root system that casts beautiful shadows when lit.

The amoeba- inspired bronze Ruhlmann  sconce is a fabulous answer to a more elegant application.

The 3D-printed Hyphae Lamp by Nervous System is an incredible piece that is not only visually reminiscent of the vein structures of a leaf, it is created by a software program developed to mimic the organic growth process to uniquely form each structure, just as it would be grown in nature.
