Louise Lawler forces us to question the use of art with her pieces

As part of the “Pictures Generation”, Louise Lawler has focused her art on presentation and marketing. A large portion of her work consists of her record of other artists’ photographs and artwork, and the context in which they are viewed. Ms. Lawler calls to question installation, value and experience in her thought-provoking work.

If you happen to visit NYC anything soon, check our her installation on the Highline at 18th Street & 10th Avenue. This large public work titled “Triangle” is a photograph of a room inside Sotheby’s where pieces by Donald Judd, Frank Stella and Sol LeWitt are showcased.

Installation by Louise Lawler.
