Melbourne Camper store + 30,000 red shoelaces = FUN!

Spanish shoe brand Camper has a zest for life! They enlisted Brazilian architect Marko Brajovic and coordinated the installation of 30,000 long, red laces to hang from the ceiling, leaving them free to dangle. Behind the red, shiny counter towards the back of the store, the laces were suspended from the ceiling to the floor; in essence, functioning as a curtain to hide the stockroom.

Brajovic’s studio was hired to re-imagine several Camper stores. In order to bring a common theme into these various installations, the ceiling shapes were created based upon the local weather phenomena. Thus, the Melbourne storefront got “cyclone”. Super fun, lively and welcoming, you might be tempted to linger a bit longer than necessary!

The local Melbourne store display was created with the concept of ‘think global, act local’ project.

Watch out- laces on the loose at this Camper store. Notice the longer laces which act as a screen for the stockroom.
