A metal “armadillo” invades elegant Parisian block

It’s here… an Italian Pritzker-award winning architect managed to squeeze a blob-like metal structure into a Parisian city block without disturbing any of the current structures.  Eight years in the making, Renzo Piano successfully managed to merge old and new with his unorthodox creation.  The complicated part was unseen; making sure that enough ventilation and light streamed into the neighboring buildings.  Although mainly obstructed by existing buildings, this extremely unusual metal configuration has certainly brought “new life” into this city block.
