Yeah, we had the opportunity to check out the new retrospective devoted to the very talented Niki de Saint Phalle last week! Niki de Saint Phalle was a Franco-American artist internationally known for her colorful, monumental, cartoonlike sculptures and environments. A feminist before feminism was even considered, she liked to reconcile violence and chaos within her work in a playful manner. There is an entire room devoted to her “Nanas” figurines which are the most well-known of the artist; but there’s so much more to see and learn about. A collection of over 200 pieces of Ms. Saint Phalle’s work is now being displayed at the Grand Palais through February 2, 2015.
