The Renaissance Society has reason to celebrate!

This year marks the 100th anniversary of The Renaissance Society. Since it’s inception in 1915, this group of academics from the University of Chicago has been pushing the limits of contemporary art. This Centennial is providing the Society with an opportunity to have some exhibitions and programs especially planned to celebrate this occasion!

In early June, a list of special exhibitions and programs will be made public; until then, here are a couple of exhibitions on our minds…

Alexander Calder, “Object wtih Red Discs” and “Object wtih Red Ball” from the 1931 exhibition, “A Selection of Works by Twentieth Century Artists”.
