Each year, RAW: almond stages an international competition in order to decide what that winter’s pop-up restaurant design will be. Since Winnipeg was formed by a single block of ice, each winter, Winnipegers brave the elements to climb down the frozen river and eat unparallel fare at RAW: almond. World-class chefs gather to cook at this unique pop-up establishment. British architectural firm, OS31 won this year and their architectural feat is amazing indeed!
RAW: almond is only open for 21 days and a new world-class chef is present every 2 nights.

RAW: almond is on the crossing of the Assiniborine River and the Red River in Winnipeg. This concept of “winter outdoor fine-dining” is definitely unique!

A beautiful rendering from OS31 Architect in England of this winter’s RAW: almond space. Winnipeg’s annual winter fest will certainly be enriched this year!
