Timeless creations by Old Masters are periodically discovered throughout the world, and especially in Italy where churches were the cornerstones of culture several hundred years ago. It seems as though a Piero della Francesca has been uncovered in, guess what, a church. Experts believe that this fresco inside the St. Anthony the Abbott Church in San Polo is at least partially the work of Piero della Franscesca. This priceless fresco might have been the work, at least in part, of Piero’s pupil… that’s still being studied. Regardless, this is an amazing find, and surely one that the San Polo locals hope will bring tourism to their village.
