Born in Indiana and working in Kansas City, Kenneth Ferguson was a ceramicist who was truly larger than life. Taking his inspiration from folklore and mythology, it’s no wonder his ceramics bear the shapes of animal figures combined with vessel forms. Ferguson never wavered from his belief that there’s pureness in pottery which can only be achieved by the manipulation of clay in our hands. The imagination Ferguson had is indeed vast, and his works are truly reflective of the functional ceramicist that he was!
