“Wearable Objects” is how Lebanese jewlery designer, Ranya Sarakbi, describes her designs

Ranya Sarakbi’s statement pieces are always made of silver, gold or bronze perhaps with semi-precious stones as decorations.  There is a big mythological presence to each piece and they are simple yet strong.

Ms. Sarakbi got her her start by making accessories for her friend, Rabih Kayrouz’s couture show in Beirut.  By the time the show was over, every piece that Ms. Sarakbi made was sold out. Growing up in Beirut during the 15-year civil war has brought a lot of “storytelling” into her work. As she says about the pieces in her collections, “They are objects first, and it just happens that you can wear them.”  We couldn’t agree more!
