We work with antiques constantly, from furniture, to fine art, and all require a great deal of special care. When the occasion calls for it, we have an arsenal of specialists upon whom we call to consult should an artifact require anywhere from a little TLC to a substantial restoration. Each specialist is very important to us as they are certainly connoisseurs of their craft, and it is such a pleasure to hear the history of a very old family clock, for example….to help us appreciate the special things we have around us.
One of our favorite local experts in conservation is Heather Becker, who heads The Conservation Center. We’ve had the pleasure of working with this group for years, and were so pleased to see Jason Foumberg’s piece about their fascinating line of work in Chicago Magazine.
