Bottega Veneta opens a “home goods” boutique… and we approve!

Luxury clothing designer, Bottega Veneta, recently opened their first boutique dedicated solely to furniture, accessories and lighting. Right dab in the center of Milan, this gorgeous store is housed within the 18th-century Palazzo Gallarati Scotti. The 205 square meter space is the creative vision of Tomas Maier, the brand’s creative director.

The furniture line skews toward the contemporary and set against the frescos and original terra-cotta tiles in the palazzo, the drama inside is nothing short of remarkable. Vignettes throughout are filled with sleek furnishings and the space is elegantly arranged with luxurious pieces made using age-old techniques!

This intimate space is certainly worth a visit!  If nothing else, come to experience the Italian designer showcasing  craftsmanship from different parts of Italy and Europe: Venetian glassware from Murano artisans, porcelain from Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur in Berlin and chairs from Italian furniture-maker Poltrana Frau. Wow, we can’t wait!

The elegant oak-and-steel Sawhorse table is shown with ash Meta chairs. The juxtaposition of the modern office and the historic interior is striking indeed!

Traditionally know for it’s leathermaking, Bottega spreads that knowledge to furniture. Herre, a wing chair and ottoman are upholstered in a sumptuous suede, and a floor lamp is topped with a woven-leather shade.
