Cups fit for pure mountain water

The Austrian tradition of porcelain production began in 1718 when Emperor Karl VI granted Augarten Wein the contract to be Austria’s sole porcelain producer. As the second oldest European house still in production (after Meissen c. 1710), Augarten Wein is also famous for artist collaborations, especially notable was the work of Josef Hoffman and the Vienna Workshops.

Artist collaborations with the esteemed Austrian porcelain house continue today. The Austrian National Tourist Office initiated a collaborative project with the University of Applied Arts in Vienna entitled Nature Reloaded as an opportunity for up-and-coming artists to execute their wares with Augarten Wein. We’re thrilled with this year’s winner, Hanna Burkart (Vienna, b. 1989), who won first prize for her hand-made porcelain cup Mountain Water, a reflection of the native alpine landscape.

What a treat it would be to drink water out of these “Mountain Water” cups every single day!
