El Anatsui- always amazing!

Since being exposed to El Anatsui’s large scale installation on the facade of the Palazzo Fortuny at the 2007 Venice Biennale, we’ve become consummate fans. El Anatsui’s pieces never disappoint, partially due to their colossal size and partially because of their intricacy and attention to detail!

So much is happening for this talented artist… This year, El Anatsui was presented with the Golden Lion Award for Lifetime Achievement (Venice Biennale’s most prestigious honor) for his immense artistic contributions and for helping to recognize fellow contemporary African artists within the global arena. Never far from his heart, Africa’s artistic and cultural traditions are always paramont!
