McQueen x Hirst: A glorious collaboration

When two creative masters come together, it can be a stunning production: no different is the collaboration between Damien Hirst and Alexander McQueen. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of McQueen’s iconic skull scarf, 30 limited edition designs have been exclusively produced. Throughout their respective careers, both Hirst and McQueen have shared an interest in symmetrical design and strong references to the natural world, so the collaboration is natural.

McQueen has adapted details from Hirst’s entomology series, which is filled with butterflies, spiders and other insects, in the formation of geographic patterns onto his scarves. We couldn’t be more excited for the collision between these two British giants. Truly beautiful!

Models wrapped in one of the McQueen scarf designs. The kaleidoscope of butterflies is intense yet delicate, hidden is surely a skull or two.

The Judecca skull scarf. Not surprising, the skull is central, and foremost in the background are insects of all types.
