Japanese manga inspired CHAIRS

Manga is a style of Japanese comic books that were either created in Japan or that use Japanese symbols. Developed in the late 19th century, manga have quite a cult following today, and not only in Japan. Nendo, a Japanese design firm, recently created a collection of 50 chairs based upon the abstract lines and grids used in manga graphics. Comprised of a mirror-like polished stainless steel, these chairs seem to have two dimensions.

Here are a few of our favorites…

This collection was designed as an installation for Friedman Benda Gallery (NYC) at the Facola Teologica dell’Italia Settentrionale during Milan’s Design week, April 2016.
