Laguna B is the “baby” of Marie Brandolini who founded the company in Venice in 1996. For the past 25 years, Laguna B has been combining old-world techniques with an elegant contemporary aesthetic that just keeps getting better and better.

In 2016, twenty years after the company was founded, Marcantonio Brandolini D’Adda joined Laguna B. The company, always a family affair, continues to maintain the original tableware designs while increasing the production score to include sculptures and one-of-a-kind commissions.

Marcantonio took over Laguna B when Marie, a descendant of the Rothschilds, died from cancer in 2013. The raven-haired beauty left both her home, Venice’s Palazzo Brandolini, and her glass-making business to her son. Even though Marie’s business looked uncertain for two years, Marcantonio did not waste any time once he took over. Keeping Laguna B alive and thriving is Marcantonio’s way of paying tribute to his mother.

Additionally, for the past five years, the younger Brandolini has been on a mission to show the world what the “real” Venice is and what Murano glass really means. He also wants to ensure that the world’s most famous glassmaking district does not become extinct. Everyone at Laguna B believes that they can assist with Venice and Murano continuing to stay the world’s contemporary leaders in culture, craft, and sustainability.

Recently, Laguna B collaborated with Campbell-Ray, the lifestyle brand that has worked with some of the world’s top luxury makers such as Bulgari, Veuve Clicquot, and Baccarat while provide an elegant and playful aesthetic in both residential and commercial interior design.

The collaboration, called the Rosanna Murano Glass Collection, allowed Campbell-Ray to continue exploring color and geometric form. The Murano glassware collection introduced a new look to the traditional material. The collection summed up one year of experimentation with options of color and geometry within the medium of glass.

When Marie reinterpreted “goto de furnace,” she knew that she was onto something quite special. These glasses are the inspiration behind the entire collection. In the “goti da fornasa” style, these glasses are made from leftover materials… not exactly “trash” but remaining pieces of Murano glass that, on their own, are not appropriate to construct anything substantial in size. The colored glass “sticks” are what makes the markings so unique.

We love that Laguna B is extending into other avenues and that they are collaborating with new companies. Recently, the Venice-based Italian family business collaborated with diptyque, one of the world’s top parfumeries. This French company believes that “fragrance and art are internal to everything.”
Clearly, Laguna B agrees… and the two brands collaborated to produce Murano glass paperweights. These elegant showstoppers are made using leftover Murano glass. As such, each piece is 100% unique and in keeping with the trend of sustainability… the material gets a new lease on life.

These handmade, mouth-blown glass pieces showcase geometric patterns in a wide range of colors. The ensuing result is a beautiful combination of the classic and the modern.
