Returning from a trip to Florence in November, we were, once again, stunned at the beauty of the door- knockers we encountered and photographed as we strolled along the city streets. Surely they all have an amazing story to tell… one seeped in the history they’ve seen throughout the past several hundred years.
They are mounted proudly on impressive wooden doors… almost as though they are tempting you to “try your luck”. The patina they possess gives them additional character, one that can’t be bought for any price, but rather earned through years of loyal service.
Now you decide, do you like the angelic ones or do you prefer one from a more sinister variety?
