Move over Van Gogh… Les Rencontres d’Arles is coming to town!

Each summer since 1970, within the provincial town of Arles, an international photography festival converges. It’s only fitting that in the town where Van Gogh painted some of his most infamous works, talent and trends are displayed July 6th- September 20th.

The festival has grown in recent years, in part due to a new “festival head”. In 2013, Hiroshi Sugimoto printed photos on Hermes scarves and displayed as  hanging fixtures in the Church of St. Blaise. As if an additional reason to visit France was necessary…

In 2013, Les Recontres d’Arles displayed Hiroshi Sugimoto printed photos on Hermes scarves and hung them at the Church of St. Blaise which is normally shuttered.
