New Philharmonie de Paris has an innovative modular design

The Grande Salle at the new Philharmonie de Paris, which opened earlier this year, allows for a very intimate audience-performer relationship. With 2,400 seats, the stadium manages to envelope the audience. Using a modular design, capacity increases to 3,600 when a standing room area is put into place. This futuristic-looking building is sure to be the hottest place to see a concert in the coming years!

340,000 tiles depict abstract birds, which are among several spirited and inspired features that define this concert hall, immensely different from other concert venues throughout the world.

With plenty of space, Jean Nouvel’s intent was to change the way people participate in musical performance.
