Set amidst the desert landscape and just over 80 miles south of Lima, esteemed architect, Javier Artadi, constructed an oasis from the overbearing sun. Perhaps his most “original” creation, it’s one that took several years and the help of several additional Peruvian architects.
There are 3 sections along the once deserted beach: the “Relaxation” oasis, the “Sporting” oasis and the “Lodging” oasis. The condominium area provides wonderful sleeping accommodations and the common “seating area” has detachable canvas awnings to shield from the unforgiving sun. The freshwater swimming pool looks inviting among the desert backdrop and sand. Outdoor showers integrate into the landscape with their coloring and placement. And finally, views of the uninhabited and uninterrupted shoreline provide for hours upon hours of viewing pleasure.
There’s a certain beauty that was created when these white roofs, concrete columns and adobe walls were installed. Artadi definitely fulfilled his promise of “conveying the maximum with minimal expression”.
