Suzanne Lovell Inc. meticulously renovated this 1909 landmark home by Howard Van Doren Shaw. As the interior architect and interior designer for this residence, our team set out to lighten and brighten the space throughout and open up the back of the house to allow the sun to shine in through the western windows. This was our second time renovating this home for our patron Client who wanted to update their function of space to match the evolving needs of their family.
Before and after showing the main stair – the original Treen wood detailing was duplicated and repeated at the banister for continuity. The portal at the stair landing was enlarged to increase the feeling of openness and improve circulation. Read more about how we transformed this residence.
