About this Project

This contemporary owner’s suite at the legendary St. Regis in Manhattan is the combination of 7 units. The historic Beaux Arts architecture has been respected and enhanced to create an in-town residence of extraordinarily gracious elegance. Fine art installations express the highest level of connoisseurship and are easily included in this relaxed and inviting hideaway.

Nick Knight’s Black Kate, 2008, is reflected in an original silvered bronze Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann mirror (1925) in the entryway (Frank Pollaro fabricated a second mirror to match, which is hung at the other end of the hall). Below the mirror is a custom Frank Pollaro cantilevered ledge in Macassar ebony and black shagreen.

Above the fireplace hangs a circa 1934 panel from the Rape of Europa mural by Jean-Théodore Dupas, flanked by a pair of Baccarat Torch Wall Lamp sconces.
